Bishop Museum Presents May Museum After Hours

Family-friendly evening event features discounted admission, free parking,
and the Kaiwiʻula Night Market.

Honolulu, Hawaiʻi — Bishop Museum, the State of Hawai‘i Museum of Natural and Cultural History, invites local ʻohana and visitors to Museum After Hours on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 5-9 p.m. This family-friendly evening event features discounted admission, free parking, access to all exhibitions and galleries, curated programming, Planetarium shows, live music, and for the first time, the Kaiwiʻula Night Market.

Tickets are on sale for $10 per person at BishopMuseum.org/AfterHours. This month, Museum After Hours guests will enjoy special programming around Bishop Museum’s newest exhibition, Ea Mai ’Eiwa: Patterns of Practice, with a tribute to Nālani Kanakaʻole in the form of live performances of hula, mele, oli, and poetry throughout Hawaiian Hall. A full schedule of programming and activities is provided below.

“In uncertain times, Bishop Museum is especially appreciative of our community and their continued support,” said Brandon Bunag, Ed.D., Bishop Museum vice president of public programs and interim director of education. “Through these Museum After Hours events, we hope to provide a safe, relaxed pau hana environment at a reduced rate for guests to enjoy the Museum, live music, and good food under the starry night sky of Kaiwiʻula.”
