To and From Waikīkī…

1. Head southeast on Kalākaua Blvd. (toward Diamond Head)

2. Turn left at Kapahulu Ave. 1.5 mi

3. Follow signs for H-1 West

4. Take the ramp onto I-H1 W 4.9 mi

5. Take exit 20A to merge onto HI-63 N/Likelike Hwy

6. Turn right at Bernice Str.

1. Head southeast (toward Diamond Head) on Bernice Str. toward Kapālama Ave.
2. Turn left at Kapālama Ave.

3. Turn right at North School Str.

4. Follow School Street to the Liliha Onramp to H-1 Eastbound

5. Take the ramp onto H-1

6. Take exit 23 for Punahou Str.

8. Follow Punahou Str. to Phillips Str.

8. Turn right at Phillips Str.

9. Turn left on Kalākaua Ave. and follow into Waikīkī.

1. Walk to the nearest bus stop on Kūhiō Avenue (parallels Kalākaua Blvd one block further from the beach).

2. Get on the #2 ‘School St./Middle St.’ bus. Get off the bus at the intersection of School and Kapālama Streets.

3. Cross School Str.at the intersection and walk down Kapālama Ave. (you’ll be headed toward the ocean, ‘makai’, though you can’t see it).

4. At the intersection of Kapālama Ave. and Bernice Str., turn right.  You should see the museum grounds on the left hand side of Bernice and the entrance is about 200 feet up the street (on your left).

NOTE: Travel time is about 1 hour

1. Go out the front gate of the museum (Bernice Str.), and turn right.

2. At the first corner (Kapālama Ave.) turn left (mauka).

3. Keep walking until you get to the School Street intersection (Stop Light).

4. The bus stop will be to your left.

5. Take the #2 ‘Waikīkī/Kapi‘olani Park’ bus.

To and From the airport...

1. Merge onto H-1 Eastbound via the ramp to Waikīkī/Honolulu.

2. Take exit 20A at the Likelike Hwy (State Highway 63).

3. Follow Likelike Highway for a few hundred yards.

4. Turn right at Bernice Str.

1. Drive out the front gate of the museum (Bernice Str.), and turn right.
2. At the first corner (Kapālama Ave.) turn left (you’ll be headed toward the mountains, ‘mauka’).

3. Proceed to the stop light (School Str.) and turn left (heading Ewa). Keep in the left lane.

4. Go past the first stop light, and enter the left turn lane at the second stoplight (Likelike Highway/Kalihi Str.).

5. Turn left onto Likelike Highway (you’ll be heading makai), and immediately get in the right lane.

5. Take the H-1 West cut-off.

6. From the H-1 West take the Airport, Hickam, Pearl Harbor Exit and follow the Airport cutoff.

2. Cross the road to catch the “#7 Kamehameha IV Rd. Bus”.

3. When you board, ask the driver for a transfer.

4. Get off the bus on Nimitz Highway, and then wait for the #19 or #20 Airport bus to arrive.

Parking

Daytime parking for non-members is $5.00.

Evenings after 5 p.m. is $3.00.

Bishop Museum Members with valid parking sticker are free.  

Parking payment kiosks are located in front of the main Museum entrance as well as in the upper parking lot.  Kiosks accept credit cards only.  From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., parking fees can be paid by cash in Shop Pacifica. Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Parking fees provide vital support for the Museum’s collections, research, educational programs, and exhibitions.

$5/vehicle Daytime Rate:  6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
$3/vehicle Evening Rate:   5:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
 
Evening and special events rates may apply. No overnight parking privileges.
Failure to pay for parking will result in a $5 parking owed notice, payable to Diamond Parking.

Member Parking

No.  Members will enjoy free parking as a benefit of Bishop Museum membership.

If you left your parking sticker at home, please see a staff member at the Admissions Desk in Shop Pacifica for assistance. You will be issued a temporary one-day parking pass for your visit. If you did not receive parking stickers in the membership packet mailed to upon joining or renewing your membership, then ask the Admissions Desk staff to issue you a temporary parking pass and to contact the Membership Department to mail you permanent stickers.

Please contact the Membership Department for replacement parking stickers, at 808.847.8296 or membership@bishopmuseum.org. You can request to have them ready to pick up at the Admissions Desk in Shop Pacifica on the day of your next visit, or mailed to you prior to your visit. There is a $5 replacement fee for lost/stolen parking stickers and membership cards.

The Membership Department issues one parking sticker for Student and Friend membership levels, and two parking stickers for Senior, Dual/Family, Patron and higher membership levels. To obtain additional parking stickers, there is a $5 fee.

Unfortunately, ASTC is no longer accepted at Bishop Museum, so ASTC members are not eligible for free parking.

Unfortunately, parking fees cannot be deducted from the cost of a membership – we are unable to verify your parking purchase from the Admissions Desk. You can, however, credit the cost of your museum admission toward the purchase of a membership and enjoy free member parking for all future visits to Bishop Museum. To redeem this membership offer, you must present your admission ticket sales receipt to the Admissions Desk within 7 days of the transaction date.

Bishop Museum has designated convenient parking for its handicapped guests. Vehicles parked in a blue handicap space and displaying a blue handicap placard will not be charged for parking.

Yes, the $5 parking fee applies to all vehicles parked in a nonhandicap Museum stalls.

The parking fee is $5 per car, per visit. There is no kama‘āina discount.

Absolutely. Simply become a Bishop Museum member at the level of your choosing and you will receive a member parking pass as a benefit of Bishop Museum membership.

Bishop Museum is not responsible for the activities of vehicles parked off campus and we recommend that you follow all posted parking signs and restrictions when parking on city streets.

Bishop Museum has four electric vehicle charging stations located in the second parking area, near the Pākī and Atherton buildings. These stall are restricted to electric vehicles only and are available on a first come, first served basis. Electric vehicles parked in the charging stations do not need to pay the $5 parking fee, but electric vehicles parked in regular stalls do need to pay the $5 parking fee.

Electric vehicles using charging stations will be charged a charging fee. 

Special Events Parking

If you are attending an evening Museum event and are parking your vehicle in the lot after 5:00 p.m., the parking fee will be $3 unless otherwise posted. Vehicles that park prior to 5:00 p.m. will be charged the regular $5 parking fee.
$5 Daytime Rate:  6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
$3 Evening Rate:   5:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

Parking fees vary by facility rental contract. Please contact your event coordinator for specifics regarding your event or contact our Facility Rentals Department at 808.847.8236.

There will designated loading zones for Kama‘āina Kids families during drop off and pick up hours. Please follow the posted instructions.
