March sees the return of the 17th Annual Mālama Hāloa Kalo Festival & Symposium. This year’s programming spans three days, culminating in a campuswide festival on March 2, 2025. Also, explore our new exhibit, Wayfinders: He Waʻa He Moku, He Moku He Waʻa, We Are One and the Same, as Hōkūleʻa, Hawaiʻi’s legendary voyaging canoe, turns 50! Celebrate this milestone with Bishop Museum and the Polynesian Voyaging Society in an evening of special programming at Museum After Hours on March 14.

Bishop Museum Welcomes Hawaiʻi Triennial 2025

The state’s largest thematic exhibition of contemporary art will showcase nine artists in the Museum’s Castle Memorial Building, with discounted admission during Opening Weekend.

Bishop Museum Presents Kāhuli Festival 2024

Bishop Museum, the State of Hawai‘i Museum of Natural and Cultural History, presents Kāhuli Festival 2024 this Saturday, Nov. 9 from 3-9 p.m. throughout its 15-acre campus. The third-annual, family friedly event is $5 for kamaʻāina and military, and will feature the public opening of a captive rearing research center of live Native Hawaiian snails, as well as a recreation of Queen Liliʻuokalani’s necklace of hand-painted Achantinella species snail shells.
