Bishop Museum entomology specimens, both determined and undetermined, are available for loan to researchers and are made to institutions and to individuals who are recognized authorities but have no institutional affiliation. Loans initiated by or for study by students must be co-signed by the faculty sponsor who agrees to take full responsibility for the care and safe return of the specimens. Loans are typically made for two years, and can be renewed upon request. Primary type material is loaned for a period of one year. Loan requests should anticipate at least three weeks of processing time before specimens are shipped.
