Join us for this celebration of Marquesan culture. Taka Iki represents the bond that unites the six Marquesas Islands – Nuku Hiva, Ua Huka, Ua Pou, Hiva Oa, Tahuata and Fatu Hiva – around their culture, as expressed in their songs, traditional dances, crafts, tattoos and more. A group primarily comprised of young students of the Marquesas Islands with a deep passion for their rich culture. Great Tuhuka of the Marquesas Islands are honored to enrich Taka Iki with their knowledge.

The mission of Taka Iki is to develop, share and promote Marquesan culture. Taka Iki transmits ancestral artisanal and culinary knowledge, implements social cohesion projects aimed at young Marquesans and proudly represents the Marquesas Islands beyond their borders through their songs and dances.
