Moana 2 ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi Premiere Screening
Join us for a special premiere screening of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Moana 2 recreated entirely in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (the Hawaiian language) and produced by Kūmau Productions. This landmark film brings together Hawaiian language speakers from across the pae ʻāina (Hawaiian Islands), featuring performances by Auliʻi Cravalho and Kaʻikena Scanlan, alongside a new generation of kamaliʻi (children) making their debut in the world of production.
After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana journeys alongside Maui and a new crew to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.
This screening is a celebration of ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, intergenerational storytelling, and the power of ancestral knowledge. Gather with ʻohana (family), educators, cultural practitioners, and the wider community to experience this meaningful moment for our language and our people.
