The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), installed on the Mayall telescope on Kitt Peak in Arizona, uses 5000 pencil-sized robots to measure the light from thousands of galaxies simultaneously. Experience the largest structures in the universe by flying through a portion of DESI’s initial data and hear from scientists using this detailed 3D map of the expanding universe.
