Grand Opening: UNDER/GROUND

Friday, November 20, 2026
6 – 9 p.m.
Castle Memorial Building | Gallery Lawns | Great Lawn
$10 Pre-registration | $15 At-the-door | Free Museum Member

Join us for the grand opening of UNDER/GROUND, an exhibition featuring all-new murals, original artworks, sculptures, and immersive installations co-curated by Jasper Wong, World Wide Walls founder, Amy Wong, World Wide Walls co-lead director, and designed by DeAnne Kennedy, Bishop Museum exhibit designer. By recreating and recontextualizing environments within Bishop Museum, the exhibition bridges street culture and institutional space, recognizing the legitimacy, innovation, and lasting influence of hip-hop and street art. Join us as we celebrate these movements as vital forms of human expression that reshaped global culture and continue to inspire new generations to create, speak, and be seen.

Be the first to see the exhibition, talk story with the artists and curators, join a guided tour of the exhibition, enjoy live music and break dancing on the gallery lawns. Support local food, drink, and merch vendors provided by Art & Flea.
