Behind the Scenes Native Garden Tour
Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: Bishop Museum Native Garden
Free with museum admission, registration required
Join expert botanist, Miles Thomas, on an in-depth native garden tour! Take a guided walk through the garden and learn how to identify native and canoe plant species. We’ll also discuss the cultural and historical significance of some of the flora we have on Bishop Museum campus. This event will be outdoors with limited shade access, so please plan accordingly: Bring water, sunscreen and an enthusiasm for plants! After the walk, participants will be gifted a native Hawaiian plant to take home and can spend some time talking story and try Hawaiian grown ʻawa.
This event will be outside with minimal shade, so please bring water, sun protection, and dress accordingly.
This workshop is part of Bishop Museum’s ʻāina based community experiences, to educate and connect the public with our ʻāina in the museum’s open air learning spaces.
