Join us for a reduced-admission family night at a special Museum After Hours inspired by our popular exhibit, Expedition Dinosaur: Into the Deep. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a Jurassic experience, for a repeat visit or for the first time, before Expedition Dinosaur closes on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Discover ancient marine worlds from the Jurassic period … Journey beneath the waves and back in time with Expedition Dinosaur: Into the Deep. This expansive 7,000-square-foot exhibit highlights fascinating parallels between prehistoric marine ecosystems and the diverse aquatic habitats surrounding our islands today.

Then, head to the Great Lawn, where we welcome you to “Jurassic Park”, an adventure 65 million years in the making.

Please note, all museum galleries will close at 7:00 p.m.

Expedition Dinosaur: Into the Deep

Visitors of all ages will delight in interactive and engaging activities, including fossil digs, augmented reality sandboxes that explore volcanic island formation, dinosaur-themed animation studios, and the immersive “Journey to the Deep Theater.” Connect with Earth’s ancient past, fostering a deeper appreciation for our islands’ natural history and the ocean life that continues to define our home.

Moʻonui Encounters
Castle Memorial Building entrance
5:15 p.m. & 6:15 p.m.
Meet Kaiwiʻulaʻs resident prehistoric superstar, the juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex, Moʻonui, in a brief face-to-face encounter! Visitors of all ages are invited to experience this thrilling personal encounter just outside the main entrance of the Castle Memorial Building. Show times subject to change and availability due to outdoor conditions and weather.

Life finds a way. A wealthy entrepreneur creates a theme park of cloned dinosaurs. But when a security system fails during a preview tour, the prehistoric predators escape, forcing experts and grandchildren to fight for survival amidst the chaos and danger on the island.
