Bishop Museum is pleased to present the Science and Sustainability Festival, an annual, campus-wide event that brings our community together to celebrate the science and culture of Hawai’i and the Pacific, and the importance of caring for our unique and diverse island home. We’re excited to present this year’s Festival theme, Sustainable Seas as we incorporate one of the most relevant topics of our day, the conservation and preservation of our ocean environment. Programming highlights include Bishop Museum’s research, collections, current exhibits (Spineless Wonders Rising from the Deep, Mai Kinohi Mai: Surfing in Hawaiʻi, and Plastic-Free Pipeline installation), as well as organizations in the areas of ocean sustainability and partners whose work focuses on our ahupua’a, specifically kai (sea). The family-friendly, daylong event also includes hands-on activities, food trucks, and special guest speakers.
