Members | Pau Hana Pū Kākou: Chronicling Pacific Island Land Snail Biodiversity
Friday, December 18
4 – 5 pm
Speaker, Chandra Earl, PhD, the Joshua M. Copus Memorial Postdoctoral Fellow in Biodiversity Informatics and Computational Biology at Bishop Museum will discuss biodiversity, and why is it so important for museums to utilize their collections using up-to-date methodologies?
Specifically, this talk will be in the context of the PILSBRy (Pacific Island Land Snail BioRepository) project and how this project is using linked resources to generate stories and answer questions about Hawaiian biodiversity. These types of discoveries will only serve to bolster interest and generate research in Hawaiian natural sciences.
