Sing has been “making net” for 45 years and will demonstrate the elements of ‘upena (fishnet) tying and spacing, and the use of the tools in ‘upena tying.
The realm of the fisherman extends beyond making the net, to understanding fishing laws today and how they are based on the historical konohiki fishing rights. Learn about the names of the ocean realms where certain fish live. Be awed by the ancient knowledge
Hawaiians have perpetually passed on about the ocean and how to care for the ‘āina.
