Surfing is a culture, an art, a science, and a way of life. Enjoy this original exhibit featuring unique treasures from the Museum’s collection of surfing materials and archival surfing photographs. View the greatest assemblage of storied surfboards ever, both from our collection and on loan, spanning surfing’s early history to the present day.

Spineless Wonders: Rising From the Deep

Explore stunning images by acclaimed nature photographer Susan Middleton—who specializes in the portraiture of rare and endangered species—and encounter an array of marine invertebrates from the Museum’s collections, rarely seen on view with such clarity. Get up close and personal with these tiny and curious spineless wonders that are usually hidden below the ocean’s surface.
