This expansive 7,000-square-foot exhibit highlights fascinating parallels between prehistoric marine ecosystems and the diverse aquatic habitats surrounding our islands today.\nAt 7 p.m. enjoy an outdoor screening of the classic film The Land Before Time (1988) directed Don Bluth on the Great Lawn. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets! Food and beverages will be available for purchase.\n**All Galleries will close at 7 p.m. when the screening starts**\nExpedition Dinosaur: Into the Deep\nVisitors of all ages will delight in interactive and engaging activities, including fossil digs, augmented reality sandboxes that explore volcanic island formation, dinosaur-themed animation studios, and the immersive “Journey to the Deep Theater.” Connect with Earth’s ancient past, fostering a deeper appreciation for our islands’ natural history and the ocean life that continues to define our home.\nMoʻonui Encounter\nCastle Memorial Building entrance\n5:30 pm & 6:30 pm\nMeet Kaiwiʻulaʻs resident prehistoric superstar, the juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex called Moʻonui, in a brief face-to-face encounter during the new Expedition Dinosaur: Into the Deep exhibition! Visitors of all ages are invited to experience this thrilling personal encounter just outside the main entrance of the Castle Memorial Building. Note: Show times subject to change and availability due to outdoor conditions and weather.\nThe Land Before Time (1988)\nDirected by Don Bluth\nRuntime: 69 minutes\nLittlefoot, a young plant-eating dinosaur, is orphaned after his mother perishes while protecting him from a vicious carnivore. With her last breath, she tells him how to get to the legendary Great Valley, where he will be reunited with others of his kind. With his friend Cera, Littlefoot sets out for the fabled land, meeting a variety of new friends along the way — while also being tracked by the killer dinosaur that mortally wounded his mother.\nPlanetarium Shows:\nThe Hawaiian Sky Tonight\nJ.
