This special Museum After Hours also welcomes the wider community to discover the history of Waimānalo through the launch of the Waimānalo Mau a Mau collection of children’s books from Kamehameha Schools Publishing.\nMālama Honua Mauka to Makai celebrates and promotes the movement of mālama ʻāina, from mauka to makai honoring a decade of meaningful partnerships and inspiring action toward a sustainable future. For ages 5-10. A parent/guardian must be present.\nWaimānalo Mau a Mau Wahipana Project is an initiative dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Waimānalo. This project is a collaborative effort that brings together community voices, cultural practitioners, and researchers to document and uplift the unique stories, traditions, and landscapes of our beloved Waimānalo.\nMālama Honua Public Charter School (MHPCS) is a free public charter school in Waimānalo, Hawaiʻi located on the windward side of the island of Oʻahu. This dynamic, Hawaiian-focused community public charter school currently serves 167 students, grades K-8. It is dedicated to serving the families of Waimānalo and surrounding communities by providing a rigorous learning environment guided by Hawaiian cultural values. These Core Values are evidenced through student work learning with and from the ʻāina and the sea as an overarching curricular foundation. Inspired by Polynesian voyaging and founded by Nainoa Thompson and Robert Witt in 2014, Mālama Honua Public Charter School was envisioned as a school whose mission was to create leaders who embodied the attributes of the Mind of the Navigator and the values embodied by the Worldwide Voyage. The voyage and the school aim to share with the world the values of mālama honua, to care for the earth.\n
