Nonindigenous and invasive species are just recently being identified and there has been little work done on these species in relation to coral reefs. The Mini-Symposium E8 "Coral Reef Nonindigenous and Invasive species" was convened at the 9th International Coral Reef Symposium held at Bali, Indonesia on 27 October 2000.
