| Remarks: The Yellow Tang is extremely abundant in Hawai'i, but less common throughout the rest of its range. It lives in schools on coral reefs. The white spot neat the base of the tail is actually a retractable spine. Used in defense and combat, this spine is very sharp. This species is the most frequently exported aquarium fish from Hawai'i. |
