| Common Name: Potter's Angelfish Distribution: Endemic to the Hawaiian Islands and Johnston Atoll |
| Remarks: This beautiful little species was named in honor of Frederick A. Potter, a previous Director of the Waikiki Aquarium. Like other related species of angelfishes, it starts life as a female, then ultimately changes sex (and elements of its color pattern) to become a male. Males dominate over harems of about 2-7 females. |
