Common Marine Macro-Algae of the Hawaiian Islands

This computer key was created to help assist the general public and marine biologists alike identify the most common marine macro-algae found around the Hawaiian archipelago. There are approximately 700 species of algae, or limu in the waters of the Hawaiian islands. This key assists in the identification of 27 of the most common taxa. It includes native and non-native invasive species.
Created by Shelley A. James, Christopher F. Puttock, and Isabella A. Abbott (2004) in association with the Herbarium Pacificum, Bishop Museum, Honolulu, Hawaii. Funding was provided in part by National Sea Grant.
To run this key, Lucid Player (PC only) is required. Lucid Player Standard can be downloaded for free from www.lucidcental.com.
