Weekend Retreat To Big Island Offers Exclusive Access To Restricted Forest Reserve
Captain Cook, HI – Bishop Museum is offering a three-day Big Island Excursion that includes participation in the 5th Annual Grow Hawaiian Festival at Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden. The trip will take place from February 27 – March 1, 2009.
Highlights of the weekend getaway include:
- A guided fieldtrip with Hawai‘i Forest & Trail to the restricted Keauhou mauka field lands and Forest Reserve
- Personal tours of the Amy Greenwell Garden
- Exclusive sessions with experts on ancient and modern Hawaiian agriculture techniques
- Amy Greenwell Garden’s Grow Hawaiian Festival, presented by Hawai‘i Forest & Trail
Participants will stay at the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort. Cost for this three-day tour is $950 per person, double occupancy; and $1050 per person, single occupancy. This includes transportation to and from the Grow Hawaiian Festival at Amy Greenwell Garden on Saturday, and transportation to various tour sites on Sunday. Cost also covers resort accommodations, and most meals. Five hundred dollars of the cost is a tax-deductible contribution to Bishop Museum to help support its educational programming. Air travel and transportation to and from the hotel are not included.
