Benefit Dinner for the Picture Gallery and Art Restoration Fund
Honolulu, HI – Bishop Museum and Morton’s The Steakhouse in Honolulu are paired up once again for the 3rd Annual Benefit Dinner to fundraise for the restoration efforts aimed at preserving treasured artworks in the Museum’s collection. The 3rd Annual Benefit Dinner to support this ongoing effort will be held at Morton’s The Steakhouse in Honolulu on Monday, September 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Benefit Dinner fare will include a lavish strolling buffet of Morton’s signature dishes, select wines, and classic Mortinis ™. Distinctive pieces from Bishop Museum’s extraordinary collection of oil paintings from the 19th century will be on display. The evening will also feature a silent auction featuring items from Bishop Museum’s Library and Archives, special Morton’s gift items, and the opportunity to “adopt” a painting in need of restoration.

Earlier this year, the Picture Gallery reopened on the third floor of the Hawaiian Hall complex after it was renovated to reflect its original exhibit space. Prior to the reopening, much of the artwork remained in storage for over seventy years. This Benefit Dinner aims to continue the restoration efforts and eventual display of pieces that are in need of conservation.
