Bank of Hawaii Renews Sponsorship of Popular Summer Concert Series

Summer is coming…and it’s Moonlight Mele time again in Kalihi! Bank of Hawaii presents Moonlight Mele on the Lawn at Bishop Museum—a three-part series of Hawaiian music concertprograms--for the summer of 2008--presented June 19, July 17, and August 14, 2008, at 7 p.m. The family-friendly concerts are presented by Bank of Hawaii on the Great Lawn at Bishop Museum. The first concert will be held June 19, 2008 and feature singer songwriter John Cruz and the Girlas. Maunalua and the Makaha Sons will perform July 17 and August 14, respectively. Save $5 on general admission tickets for advance ticket purchases before the day or evening of the concerts!
Tickets go on sale April 1, 2008 at both the Bishop Museum and Hawai’i Maritime Center box offices daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Advance tickets for single concerts are $15 General Admission; $10 for Bishop Museum members; $10 Active/Retired Military and their families with ID; $10 Bank of Hawaii customers and employees with ID; Children 4 and under are free. There are no refunds. Concerts go on rain or moonshine! (No other offers or discounts may be combined with this offer.)
Buy early--tickets at the door, or at the box office on the day of the concerts, are $20 General Admission; $10 Museum Members; $10 Military; $10 Bank of Hawaii customers and employees with ID; and free for children 4 and under.
Come early to stake out your place on the Great Lawn in front of historic Hawaiian Hall. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for Museum members and 6 p.m. for general admission. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. Only low-height (12-inches and under) beach chairs are permitted on the Great Lawn as well as blankets and beach mats. (Hand-held umbrellas or rain slickers are always good to have on hand for the occasional light mauka showers.) Local eateries will be providing an array of food and beverage selections available for purchase. (No coolers and no outside food and beverages are allowed.) Pre-concert programming will include prize giveaways and other surprises.
Parking on the Bishop Museum compound is free. Parking in the neighboring streets is also free, however all parking signs and restrictions should be observed and private entrances to residences should not be blocked.
