CATCH A WAVE TO DESOTO BROWN'S "SURFING" BOOK SIGNING

HONOLULU - WHAT: Bishop Museum ’s respected Hawaiian archivist DeSoto Brown will be on hand to sign his latest book, "Surfing: Historic Images from Bishop Museum Archives." Brown expertly weaves beautiful images of surfing history with stories and captions that offer new insight into Hawaii's homegrown sport. “Surfing” captures over 120 historical images of the most famous wave riders in Hawai‘i , many of which have never been published before. It’s the perfect gift for the wave rider or book collector on your list!

Founded in 1892, Bishop Museum Press is the oldest continuous publisher of books in Hawai‘i, and one of the first scholarly presses in the Western Hemisphere . Proceeds from sales of Bishop Museum Press books further the Museum’s efforts in research, education and collections care.
