DINOSAURS ALIVE! FAMILY SUNDAY AT BISHOP MUSEUM
HONOLULU - Bring the kids! Bring the grandparents and the Aunties…as KRAFT Foods Hawai‘i sponsors Dinosaurs Alive! Famiily Sunday at the Bishop Museum on Sunday, December 10. Admission is reduced to just $3 per person and the doors open at 9 a.m. and you can play until 5 p.m.
Be the first to see Dinosaurs Alive!, the new kid-friendly interactive dinosaur exhibit on view December 9, 2006 through January 26, 2007. Step into a land that time forgot and meet some of the most awesome creatures that ever roamed the earth! Explore amazing prehistoric surroundings while marveling at moving, roaring dinosaurs. Catch a glimpse of an Ankylosaurus, or a baby Apatosaurus. Get up close and personal with Utahraptor, Dilophosaurus and the Velociraptor. And don’t miss Baby Triceratops, who you can teach how to walk using a joystick controller. (But please…don’t feed our dinosaurs—they’re on a special museum diet!)
Paleontologists, artists, sculptors, engineers, welders, mold makers, and computer experts at Wonderworks teamed up to create this fantastic animated exhibit that brings these amazing creatures to life—the gentle giants of a prehistoric era.
Kids can grab a comfy dino-mat and enjoy a claymation video about how dinosaurs lived. There will even be a great selection of colorful dinosaur costumes for re-enacting your own dino story with friends. And you can collect stamps of dinosaurs as souvenirs to show your class on your very own dino-passport.
Fossil expert Keith Kruger will also make an informal presentation on Fossils that Tell Stories at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Castle Memorial Building. Kruger has collected and researched fossils for more than 40 years and created the dinosaur mural at Honolulu Community College. The presentation is free with admission.
Dinosaurs Alive! is sponsored by KRAFT Foods Hawaii. As a special offer throughout the exhibit’s duration, bring a non-perishable KRAFT food product and receive $3 off keiki admission—all food products will be donated to the Hawai‘i Food Bank. One donation required per child, up to two maximum per family.
Outside on the lawn will be lots of fun activities for the kids—everything from face painting to art activities to a variety of craft and food booths, and live entertainment. And the Richard T. Mamiya Science Adventure Center and the new Science on a Sphere will be open, too!
Dinosaurs Alive! Family Sunday is created by Wonderworks and sponsored by KRAFT Foods Hawai‘i and Horizon Lines. For more information about Family Sunday at the Bishop Museum, call (808) 848-3511 or visit www.bishopmuseum.org.
