INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN HAWAI‘I’S NATURAL AND CULTURAL HISTORY WANTED FOR BISHOP MUSEUM’S VOLUNTEER GUIDE TEAM

HONOLULU – Bishop Museum is seeking outgoing, enthusiastic individuals to become part of the Volunteer Cultural Guide Team. The Cultural Guide program is a rewarding experience that allows volunteers to learn about Hawai‘i’s natural and cultural heritage and history while explore learning styles and teaching techniques for all ages. Volunteers will be able to share the knowledge they learn with Museum visitors from around the world through Hawaiian Hall tours, school programs, garden tours, and demonstration stations.

The next Volunteer Cultural Guide four-week training session will take place from January 31 through February 23, 2006 on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Pākī II Conference Room. Once the training is completed, volunteers will be scheduled for a 4-hour shift once a week. Shifts are flexible and can be worked around vacation and work schedules.

To register or for more information, contact Judi McClain at 848-4180 or via email at judim@bishopmuseum.org.
