HONOLULU – Spanning from the Hawai‘i Maritime Center to Aloha Tower Marketplace, the 6 th Annual Honolulu Harbor Festival will celebrate Hawai‘i’s rich maritime history with tugboat hulas, narrated harbor tours, and the annual Sand Island Challenge Outrigger Canoe Race. Taking place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, the Honolulu Harbor Festival will enlighten, entertain and inform visitors and residents about Honolulu Harbor ’s long and vibrant history, and its vital role in the community today.

Adding to the 6 th Annual Harbor Festival festivities will be live entertainment throughout the day at both the Hawai‘i Maritime Center and Aloha Tower Marketplace. In addition, the Hawai‘i Maritime Center will feature a poster display created by keiki, highlighted by an acclaimed 40-foot panoramic photo of Honolulu Harbor . The Center’s ongoing exhibits will also be on display and admission is free during the Honolulu Harbor Festival.

Other activities will include demonstrations by the Marine Safety & Security team and the U.S. Coast Guard Search & Rescue team. Additionally, children’s activities will take place at the Hawaii Maritime Center , while food booths will be located at Aloha Tower Marketplace.

“ Honolulu Harbor is an essential part of Hawai‘i and we are proud to share its story with the public every year through the Honolulu Harbor Festival,” said Honolulu Harbor Festival Chairman Terry White. “The Harbor Festival celebrates the Harbor’s vibrant maritime past and provides a great opportunity for residents and visitors to experience what makes the waterfront work through Harbor tours, demonstrations and vessel open houses.”

Underwritten by the local maritime industry with the support of Bishop Museum’s Hawai‘i Maritime Center and Aloha Tower Marketplace, the Honolulu Harbor Festival’s objective is to remind the community of the harbor’s presence and importance: economically, culturally, and historically. Additionally, the Harbor Festival provides a look at the Career Opportunities available on the waterfront.

The Harbor Festival is free and open to the public. Limited parking is available at the Aloha Tower Marketplace with $2 self park with validation and $3 valet with validation. Nearby downtown parking garages with flat rates are also available, such as Harbor Court ($5), Harbor Square ($2), TOPA Building ($4), and Pacific Guardian Center ($2).
