BISHOP MUSEUM HOSTS 6TH ANNUAL EDUCATOR’S EVENING
HONOLULU – In its ongoing effort to support Hawai‘i’s educators, Bishop Museum invites public and private teachers of all grade levels to attend the 6th annual Educator’s Evening on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Hosted by the Museum’s Education Department, the campus will be filled with numerous resources for Hawai‘i’s finest teachers. The highlight of the evening will be a sneak preview of the new Science Adventure Center’s exhibit and school programs.
Educators will have an opportunity to experience the various educational programs offered by the Museum by visiting interactive stations and participating in presentations and discussions throughout the campus. Education programs will include: Holoholo Science Outreach; Ola Nā Mo‘olelo Cultural Outreach; Sleepover program; Lending Box program; Planetarium and Starlab shows; and upcoming workshops for teachers.
The evening will also feature a chance for teachers to win a free visit to the Museum for their class or education group, in addition to discounts on outreach programs and resource materials.

A treasured resource of Hawaiian history and heritage, Bishop Museum was founded in 1889 by Charles Reed Bishop as a tribute to his wife Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last descendant of the royal Kamehameha dynasty.
