HONOLULU – Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down Candy Cane Lane! The North Pole’s favorite resident will be among the festivities at Bishop Museum’s 2nd Annual Candy Cane Lane from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 11 and Sunday, December 12, 2004. The family-fun holiday event will also feature arts and crafts, a holiday train ride, festive entertainment, food, lots of activities for the kids and more.
Offering the perfect holiday gift ideas, Candy Cane Lane will feature arts and crafts that you can shop for, or make yourself. Workshop stations will allow you to make and decorate such items as gingerbread cookies, holiday bookmarks, beaded bracelets, “Magic Reindeer Food,” candle holders, personalized clothing and items, hair clips and ornaments, among others.
Holiday revelers will also enjoy local entertainment by the Punahou Chamber Singers, Punahou Jazz Band, Pacific School of the Performing Arts, John Valentine & Daniel, Na Pu‘ukani and other surprise guests. Rounding out the fun will be train rides along the Great Lawn, appearances by Santa, giant inflatable jumpers, and delicious delights from various island vendors.
Admission to Candy Cane Lane is $3 per person and free for Bishop Museum Association members. In addition, there is a nominal fee for some of the activities. For additional information, call 847-3511 or visit www.bishopmuseum.org.
