2nd ANNUAL FISH FRY RAISES $85,000 FOR Hawai‘i MARITIME CENTER EDUCATION PROGRAMS
HONOLULU – The Hawai‘i Maritime Center raised nearly $85,000 for its education programs at the 2nd Annual Fish Fry. The fundraiser took place on Friday, November 5, 2005, at Kapono’s at Aloha Tower Marketplace.
Celebrating Honolulu’s historic harbor, the Fish Fry featured seafood specialties from Chai’s, Gordon Biersch, and Kapono’s, an extravagant silent auction, and entertainment by Henry Kapono and slack key guitar masters, George Kuo and Martin Pahinui.
“We are truly grateful to be partnered with so many outstanding organizations and individuals who believe in the mission of the Hawai‘i Maritime Center,” said Bill Brown, president and CEO of the Hawai‘i Maritime Center. “Through ticket sales, donations and the silent auction we were able to raise nearly $85,000, which will make a significant impact on the daily programs offered at HMC.”
