Plant Sales

We sell native Hawaiian plants and Polynesian introductions. We have an extensive line of native ground covers, shrubs, and trees for the home gardener or commercial landscaper. You’ll find many hard-to-get natives, like endangered species and wetland sedges. We have many varieties of Hawaiian taro and other traditional crops for the home garden.

We do not sell plants on-line.  We have some of the most beautiful and interesting plants available at the visitor center and the Garden entrance.  If you are looking for a more extensive selection or you need to consult with our Garden horticulturist, you should plan a visit to the Garden nursery on the north side of the Garden.  The Garden nursery is normally open Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:30 until 4:00 p.m.  However, because our horticulturist is sometimes away from the nursery, you may find the nursery closed if you do not call first for an appointment (808.323.8202).  The entrance to the Garden nursery is just south of mile marker 110 on the mauka (uphill) side of the road.

We can also grow by contract to supply landscapers, private landowners and non-profits with plants for large landscaping projects, restoration plantings, and community projects.

Proceeds from nursery sales help support the Garden and its educational and conservation programs. Much of the nursery work is done by volunteers and school groups and by our after school propagation program Hua O Ke Ao.
