A Plant or Animal Is:

ALIEN if a human brought it to Hawai‘i , and it did not arrive here on its own. Aliens arrive here by ship or plane.

NATIVE if it came to Hawai‘i on its own.

There are two kinds of natives:

ENDEMIC- found naturally only in Hawai‘i

INDIGENOUS - found in Hawai‘i and other parts of the world.
