The Southern Cross
To find
Arcturus, you follow the curve of the handle of the Big Dipper. If you continue
in the same direction, you will come to the bright star Spica
in Virgo. And if you keep going all the way down to the south,
you will find the Southern Cross, Crux.
"Follow the arc to Arcturus, draw a spike to Spica, and carry on to the Cross."
The Hawaiian name for Arcturus is Hokule`a, which means
"star of gladness".
