Recently an ASTC VISTA grant was able to send three educators from Bishop Museum to expand their museum training.
Two educators travelled to Old Town, San Diego in order to become Certified Interpreters. During this 4 day training offered by the National Association of Interpreters they learned how to use different interpretive techniques and used this information to create two public programs. Over the next few months each of our educators in Culture and Science will have opportunities to attend NAI trainings and become Certified Interpreters.
The Senior Science Educator for Bishop Museum was able to attend a training offered by the National Association for Interpreters at Yellowstone National Park. During her training she learned how to become a certified NAI trainer. With this certification she will be able to offer trainings in Hawai‘i as the only certified trainer on our islands.
