StarLab: Up in the Sky
Grades K-2
Length of program: 30 minutes

  Take a tour of the current night sky and learn to locate stars and constellations. Hear stories that have been told about the stars, and find out about unique planetary "events" in the sky.

Shows can be modified per school's interest (i.e. emphasis on planets, etc.) Please request prior to booking

HCPS III – Benchmarks
Science:
SC.K.8.2 Identify different types of celestial objects seen in the day and night sky.
SC.3.8.4 Describe that constellations stay the same, though they "appear" to move across the night sky
Social Studies:
SS.1.1.1 Distinguish temporal structures (i.e., beginning, middle, and end) in stories and historical narratives.

Program Requirements
Set-up time: 1 hour
Session Duration: 30 minutes
Time Between Sessions: 15 minutes
Breakdown Time: 30 minutes

SCHOOL MUST PROVIDE:
- Room ceiling height of at least 10.5 feet clear of fans, sprinklers, etc
- Floor area minimum of 25' x 25'
- Air-conditioned room
- May not be set up outdoors

- Power supply
