Free Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden; Captain Cook, HI Free tree and plant giveaway! Sponsored by Kaulunani Urban and Community Forestry program we give away five hundred native plants for home landscaping, many of which are rare and endangered. Each individual is limited to two trees and there will be many different species to select from such as iliahi (sandalwood) or the State flower, the mao hau hele. The Garden is located twelve miles south of Kailua-Kona on Highway 11, just south of mile marker 110. The garden welcomes all visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Admission to the garden is by donation, suggested at $4.
