8th Annual Bernice Pauahi Bishop Awards Dinner. A benefit for Bishop Museum’s various programs, this event continues to celebrate the legacy of Bernice Pauahi Bishop while honoring two long-standing community members: Dr. Richard T. Mamiya, who will receive the Charles Reed Bishop Award, and Dr. Michael J. Chun, who will receive the Robert J. Pfeiffer Award.

The Bernice Pauahi Bishop Awards Dinner will be held under the stars on the Museum’s Great Lawn for the second year in a row. The event will feature a cocktail hour with a special preview of the Museum’s new He Hulu Manu: Royal Feathers exhibit, live entertainment by Na Hōkū Hanohano award-winner Sean Na’auao, food stations by Hawai‘i’s top chefs including Hiroshi Fukui, D.K. Kodama, Philippe Padovani, Alan Wong and Roy Yamaguchi, and the presentation of awards.

The first Bernice Pauahi Bishop Awards dinner was held in 1998, and since then has continued to celebrate community members who have made life-long commitments to Hawai‘i and its people. The Charles Reed Bishop Medal honors individuals who exemplify the spirit and purpose of the Museum’s founder, and the Robert J. Pfeiffer Medal honors those who demonstrate the devotion and civic leadership of the award’s namesake.

CO-CHAIRS: Walter A. Dods, Jr. and Donna Tanoue
