NEWSPAPERS
Hawaiian, Japanese, and English language newspapers reflecting the indigenous and immigrant populations of the State of Hawai'i are available in microfilm and microfiche for patron usage. Rare and fragile hard copies are also available on a limited basis to verify difficult or hard to read sections of microform copies. A reader/printer is available.
The Bishop Museum has recently been invloved with two efforts to preserve the legacy of the Hawaiian-language newspapers that flourished throughout the islands for more than a century. Learn more here.
